Very frankly, I now rather only connect with the people I'm likely to talk with rather than everyone who tries to connect with me on Skype. Many are there just and only to sell their services which I don't need so there is no point in connecting with them.

ICANN added 14 new TLDs, such as the .ss for South Sudan and the .tel for telecom companies, in the last 28 years. TLDs started being in use in 1984.

This year, ICANN decided to offer companies the opportunity to define their own TLDs. 1,900 applications have been submitted and we expect ICANN to release information about those on June 13, just a few more days...

Guys! Look at that ugly penguin hiding...

Google is constantly changing (improving...) and this time many got a hit because of their new Penguin update. In my case, the latest changes have been rather positive, but many people got hit the wrong way around and their ranking went down, possibly very much so (some talk about receiving a negative ranking and suing Google over it!)

The latest change can affect anyone, although if you've done nothing wrong, you should be just fine. This being said, the way this new release works can lead to your website losing its rank because someone else played a trick on you. Whether Google can detect and/or accept that you weren't responsible is a different question. At this point, it is still a bit early to say that it is all bad.

Yesterday I created a new Twitter account and I could not get my Profile Picture to load (they also call it the Twitter Avatar).

I tried I do not know how many times, changing the format of the image (JPG instead of PNG) and it still wouldn't work.

Today, I found this message explaining that somehow it's a major technical problem on their end.

Today I wanted to touch one of the most important point about Email Marketing with you. You may actually be surprised... but this important point actually applies to writing a blog like I'm doing right here, right now in my Snap! Websites journal.

First and foremost, I noticed a trend in the last two years of people saying that when building your list of subscribers you shouldn't ask for the user's name. Apparently, some people noticed that they were getting more subscriptions to their marketing lists by just and only asking the users to enter their email address.

My personal (and I insist on that term: personal) feeling is that such marketers are missing the point. Either that, or they are building a list of subscribers that they only want to keep for a very short time (possibly a good thing for MLM, as those marketing an MLM product generally expect a very quick Yes I'll Do It answer.)
