Inkscape is a free vector graphics editor that let you create advanced graphics with lines and curves.

It is not very easy to start with this tool, but once you understand how it works, it sure makes it easy to create advanced graphics quickly.

There are versions available for MS-Windows, Mac OS/X, and Linux.
